Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) Technology
Alternating current, Direct results
We offer ACFM solutions from our principal company M/s TSC Inspection Systems, UK. ACFM is an electromagnetic inspection technique for defect / crack detection, its depth determination and its sizing in a wide range of materials like carbon steels, stainless steels, duplex, super duplex, titanium, inconel, aluminium etc. It is used now, not only in manual inspection manners but also in semi-automated and fully automated testing approaches.
ACFM offers many distinct advantages cited as below:
- Single pass, inspection method
- Utilizes no coupling medium, testing consumables etc
- The method has a high tolerance to lift off.
- As it utilizes no electrical contacts, it can be used to inspect surfaces through coatings without the need to remove it prior to the inspection.
- The technique is less demanding on the skills of the operator eg. no need for calibrations, no trigonometric calculations to arrive at quantitative results etc.
- The technique is suitable for remote deployment and can work with robots, remote operated vehicles (ROV's) etc
- It can work at very high temperatures and also, at freezing lower temperatures.
- It works in underwater applications apart from all other conventional environment applications.
- It covers a wide range of applications in many sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation (Nuclear/Non-nuclear), Railways, Roads, Bridges, Heavy Engineering, Research etc.
