Rebound / Dynamic Hardness Tester

Impact beyond compare

Mobile Hardness Testing is becoming more and more important in all modern production processes, offering a quicker and above all an economical alternative to stationary hardness testing.

An impact body carrying a tungsten carbide ball at its tip is impelled against the test surface by spring force. Due to the impact and the plastic deformation of the surface resulting therefrom, the impact body loses a part of its original speed viz. the more, the lower the hardness of the material to be tested. The speeds before and after the impact are each measured in non-contact mode. The hardness value is calculated by the ratio of the impact and rebound speeds.

The lightweight, user-friendly Portable Hardness Tester Model DP 300 measures by the well accepted dynamic measurement principle for all metals with high accuracy and offers wide amplitude in the measurement scales/ranges. The instrument is offered with different impact devices to optimize it to specific jobs and test applications.

Model DP 300   Model DP 10

The Portable Hardness Tester Model DP 10 is offered exclusively only with the 'D' impact device and the package is offered at an extremely economical price. DP 10 is ideal to cover all general purpose hardness testing needs.

Key features of Model DP 300 and DP 10 include testing compliance according to ASTM Standard A-956-96, measurement in all directions and in difficult to access areas, auto recognition of impact devices, large display screen with backlight, datalogging and complete reporting software.

Some of the applications successfully covered by NDTT at many of our customer's end include testing of large, coarse grained component parts with rough surfaces, forgings with inhomogeneous surface structures, cast materials, checking of bar steel (rounds/quadratic), testing of bright bars, assembled components, inspection of aircraft parts etc.
