Industrial Immersion Scanning Systems |
We offer complete Immersion inspection and gantry systems in a range of sizes from NDT Automation (NDTA), a member of MISTRAS GROUP INC., USA. Immersion systems are supplied in 3 classes of product: Standard, High-Speed (HS) and High Resolution (HR). Both High-Speed and High-Resolution systems use NDTA's Heavy-Duty Framing system. These designs incorporate an extremely rigid and precise industrial framing system in order to provide high strength, rigidity and minimal backlash. The systems can be incorporated with motorized (alternatively, manual) x, y, z, theta, swivel and gimbal motion axes. A turntable, bar/pipe rotator, dual search tubes for through transmission are offered as options.

These systems can be used to quantify basic mechanical, structural and compositional properties of materials under test. The changes associated with measurable parameters when ultrasound energy passes through a medium such as transit time, attenuation scattering etc, are in turn co-related to changes in physical properties such as hardness, elastic modulus, density etc in engineering materials. The system will also be put to use for Nondestructive testing of materials, locating material defects, finding the geometric significance of the defects and other related tasks such as C-Scan analysis, transducer characterization etc.

Cylinder Testing Systems

We offer cylinder testing systems which can accommodate up to 24 inch diameter "tubes" and provides a rapid linear scan (using a belt-driven scanning head) and a slow circumferential "step" to provide the 2-axis needed for a C-Scan thickness map image. The tubes can range in length from 4 to 8 feet.
The system uses a proprietary design, squirter / bubbler transducer head assembly mounted to a high-speed (essentially zero backlash) belt drive. The system employs stepper motor drives, under full C-Scan program automated control for the inspection and positioning tasks.

| µ-sonic PCI Bus-Extender chassis |
Industrial computer chassis |
Several options are possible for the Ultrasonic Data Acquisition and Motion Control System Architecture used in our systems.
One of them is the µ-sonic PCI Bus-Extender chassis, which is a small, truly portable, battery (optional) and notebook operated, Ultrasonic A, B, C scan system. It is similar in size to a notebook computer & light weight (less than 10 lbs). Its connectivity to a notebook computer, all while maintaining very good real time performance and field ruggedness.
UTwin A/B/C Scan Software Package

| UTwin Software |
UTwinT software is a complete Windows 2000/XP based acquisition and high resolution A/B/C-Scan software package. Designed to be truly user friendly with intuitive pull-down menus and icons, UTWinT is packed with features such as real time A, B, and C-scan capabilities and 3D display, coupled with powerful post processing models like zoom, size, clustering, and defect characterization. Data can also be exported to common formats for off-line analysis.
The Windows based software allows the user to define a screen presentation to best suit their needs. The Plotting Screen is a full 1280 x 1024 x 256 SVGA. The UTwin software allows for simultaneous plotting of real time A, B & C-scans for UT data. Full Image processing is supported, including zoom, custom palate and panning. Multiple gates are supported (an infinite number of gates are possible with RF replay mode). The user can choose to display any number of real time (or replay) C-scan images at once with either time of flight or amplitude gates. This system will be provided with the full (all options) software package including; RF waveform storage, Bond and Cluster analysis, Chain scan, and 3D display.
